Blues in town 2007

The fourth edition of Blues in Town picks up where it left off, with the popular energy of Enzo Avitabile and the Bottari.

Five evenings of great music where different genres meet and cross-pollinate: classic blues, acid jazz, pagode, folk music, world music.

august 10th

The first evening opens with the black guitar of Lamar Chase, one of the leading lights of Northern European blues. The style is that of the Delta tradition, the influences are those of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Ready to go… and immediately there are great emotions for the many people who crowd the Segni amphitheatre.

august 11th

Extraordinary voice, great performer who prefers live performances to establish contact with the soul of his audience. The Jamaican artist enchants the crowd with extraordinary R&B and funky interpretations, right up to the last, unforgettable notes. In the audience, among the people, to warm everyone’s heart.

august 12th

A continuous wave of people, a popular warmth that dances to the rhythm of the dark and the guitar. On the evening of 12 August, the Segni amphitheater turns into a great Mediterranean folk festival to the sound of the Tarantolati of Tricarico. It ignites to the sound of carnival masks, dances and moves to the sound of percussion. “Pizzicati dalla taranta” to 20,000, all that remains is to accompany the folk and popular rhythm of the Lucanian band through over two hours of show.

august 13th

Hammond and acid jazz. Tradition and myth. The magic of James Taylor Quartet. A winning alchemy for the fourth evening of Blues in Town 2007. A memorable evening for the Segni amphitheater and the Ionian coast, which host the founding group of a musical genre, acid jazz. Over 10,000 the officiants of an evening that celebrates the musical genius of James Taylor and his band.

august 14th

World music and Mediterranean blues. The Sax by James Senese combined with one of the historical groups of the new Neapolitan musical generation the Napoli Centrale. The fourth edition of Blues in Town closes with the energy and extraordinary interpretation of the greatest Italian blues saxophonist.

Il Blues in Town è la poesia popolare, la manifestazione di un sentimento, la storia di un popolo che si trasforma nella storia di tutti i tempi, indossando le vesti di un linguaggio universale, quello delle emozioni in note.
